Heat Stroke

WHAT IS HEAT STROKE ?

This is a lethal condition, and can easily lead to organ damage or death. Most commonly seen in guinea pigs and rabbits.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES?

Too high temperature, either due to the environment being too hot or too long fur coat.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS ?

Seizures.

Lethargy.

Warm to touch .

Unbalanced (falling over).

Increased respiratory rate .

Fast breathing .

HOW CAN OWNERS PREVENT THIS ?

Properly groom your longhaired pets .

keep your pets environment cool during hot temperatures , you can even use cold packs wrapped in a blanket to avoid them from eating the cold pack.
